Katie Melua:
"In 2005 I had the pleasure
of performing at the 46664 concert
in George, South Africa and
meeting Nelson Mandela. As part
of the concert I got to visit
an aids centre for women and
children as that years concert
was focusing on the effect aids
has on women in the community.
It was so moving to meet these
women and children, who have
been dealt such a difficult
card in life but still showed
us their beautiful smiles.
It
is my honour to be an ambassador
and help even in a small way
to raise awareness and money
for everyone who is effected
by Aids." |
