Mike Batt is Katie's manager and producer. His works include many compositions like "Bright Eyes" or "Lady Of The Dawn". All details about his works can be found on his own website.
He played piano in Katie's band before he handed this job over to Jim Watson.
Katie says: "It's really great actually to have the manager in the band because Mike plays the piano and he is such an amazing piano player!"

When Mike Batt left the band the magnificent talent Jim Watson took over the part on the piano. He played with the BBC Big Band and NDR Big Band and founded his own Jim Watson Trio. He appeared on several soundtracks like "Oceans 11" and on albums by Gary Moore and Laura Zakian.

Lucy Shaw met Katie a few years ago and soon after played with Katie and Jamie Cullum at the Brit Awards.
The tour requires a jazz bass, played on the silent Yamaha SL200, and a bass guitar (B2004) on the more rock numbers.
Lucy has toured with other artists including Ian Broudie and the band Slovo. She has recorded all genres of music, including opera with Pavarotti, funk with Lord Large, bosa nova with Julian Lloyd Webber, and with artists such as Paul McCartney, Divine Comedy and Travis.

Frank toured with Katie throughout 2006 singing backing vocals and playing violin, viola, mandolin, keyboards and ethnic flute, and continues to be an occasional live band member.
He is a prolific arranger, orchestrator and record producer, working with artists all over the world including Dame Shirley Bassey, Charlotte Church, Ronan Keating, Samantha Mumba, Mary Black, Mary Chapin Carpenter and Sinead O’Connor, as well as scoring numerous BBC television programmes.

Katie says: "Matt Condon plays the Keyboards in the band and what he does is always exciting."
Matt played for singers like A1, Gareth Gates, Will Young, Donny Osmond and Billy Fury. He has his own recordingstudio "Studio 76".

Dominic Glover is the lead trumpet player in Katie's band. He met with Mike Batt at the Brit Awards and was asked if he would like to play in Katie's band. Mike Batt noticed that Dominic plays trumpet in a very unique way - suiting perfectly to the bluesy and jazzy style desired for the live performances.
Katie says: "When he is doing something it's always different and very exciting and it's just amazing. It's very cool"
Dominic played for several musicians like Soft Cell, Citrus Sun, Suggs, Ministry of Sound and played on the soundtrack for the motion picture of "The Avengers".

Katie says "Lisa is just brillant. First of all as being a great blues and jazz bassist she has played in many orchestras classical music. She is glad to have another girl in the band. Also she is a really nice person."

Henry Spinetti was a member of Procol Harum and the Eric Clapton Band before he joined Katie Melua's band. He was part of the lineup in the "Concert for George" which was musically directed by Eric Clapton.
Katie describes him as a "very funny" man and is very grateful to have him in the band.

Justin Sandercoe taught Katie to play guitar and wrote a song named "Turn To Tell" which can be heard as the b-side on Katie's second single version of "Call Off The Search". He appeared as Katie's guitar player on the official promo video of "Call Off The Search" and writes songs for himself and other artists like Jim Cregan, Polly Scattergood and many more.

Jim has played with Cockney Rebel and the Rod Stewart band before Katie's band. He says that after 15 years of writing songs for an album, rehearsing and going on tour and doing the same routine over and over again it was time for a change.
He admires Katie for her fantastic control of her voice.

Chris and Mike have known each other for a long period of time. Since 1970 they have collaborated on several Mike Batt projects like Philharmania, The "Watership Down" soundtrack, The Wombles and Mike's solo albums. Since then Chris had supported many other bands and had a major hit in 1975 with "Motorbikin'".
He released 14 albums and 17 singles and recently supported Roxy Music on their reunion tour across Europe.

Tim Harries played guitar for the legendary folk band "Steeleye Span" before he left the band in 2001. He joined Katie's session group and played Double Bass on Katie's debut concert on 19th of November 2003 at Shepherds Bush Empire. Tim has played bass on all of Katie's studio recordings.

Michael Kruk was formerly known as the drummer of the Rock-Classic crossover group "The Planets". Additionally to his talents on the drums he learned to play guitar and produced his first solo album "Playing For Kisses" which he recorded with his friends from "The Planets" Ben Pugsley, Lac-Hong Phi and Jonathan Hill.
He says: "I met Katie Melua when she supported The Planets and it wasn't long after I left the band that I was asked to play drums on her album. I thought she was great when I worked with her but obviously had no idea just how well her album would go on to do."
